REVIEW - Backstage Paradise Book #1

Backstage Paradise Book #1

Tyla Kristal used to be one of the biggest pop stars in the world until the weight of fame brought her crashing down. Now, after five years in hiding, she’s back, trying to quietly forge a new life for herself. She wants credibility and authenticity, not the celebrity meat-grinder of the music industry.

But when one of the world’s fastest rising rock stars appears backstage, Tyla will have to decide if the walls she’s built around her heart can stay standing. He doesn’t want to take no for an answer. But what does she have left to give?

BACKSTAGE PARADISE #1 is the first novella in the BACKSTAGE PARADISE series by bestselling author, EMMA ROSE.

Let's start with the technicalities... Formatting was great. No issues with the actual words/text. Nothing seemed to be phrased oddly... to me, anyway. I'm not an English major by any means, but I thought the structure of the sentences/paragraphs flowed well. A few minor grammatical errors, but nothing that takes away from the story.

As for the plot, it was a good plot. I likened it to Britney Spears making a comeback and Calvin Harris stopping by to see her. (And yes, I actually had to visit billboard.com to find an up-and-coming rockstar!)

I liked how the book gave a glimpse into the world of being a music star, both on the upcoming/popular level and the the 'past your prime' level. Only downfall I had with the book was the sex scenes. The sex could have been a bit hotter, but I'm accustomed to BDSM novels, and the sex is always ramped up in those books.

This was a quick, fun read and I'm looking forward to reading more by Ms. Rose.

Very enjoyable 'quickie' in the Rock Star genre, just don't expect your e-reader to be scorching from the sex!
STARS: 5/5
