FOR NOW by Chelsea M. Cameron
Name: Javier Cruz
Major: “None of your business.”
Favorite Pastime: “I don’t think I can use the word f*cking on here, can I? Oh, sh*t, I said f*ck.”
Day or Night? “Night, I guess. People tend to do things at night they would never do in the light of day and I like to take full advantage.”
Cake or Pie? “Yes.”
What is your ideal date? “You’re really trying to get me into trouble, aren’t you? I’ll give you a hint. It involves me being naked with another person and a bed. Or not. I don’t need a bed. Just a surface. Kitchen counter, floor, couch. I’m not picky.”
Future Goal? “Sh*t, I don’t know. Why does everyone always ask that question? Aren’t I in college to figure out what I want to do? I haven’t finished yet, so I don’t know what I want to do. Got it? I just… I just want to be happy and make enough money so I don’t have to worry. That’s all.”
Favorite drink? “Beer. But sometimes I try those fruity things Hazel makes and they’re not bad. But don’t tell anyone I said that.”
Describe your ideal woman: “She’s tall, has dark curly hair, curses almost as much as I do, tends bar on the weekends, wants to be a lawyer and puts up with my bullish*t. She’s smart and funny and always surprises me. And she’s got a killer set of legs and an amazing ass. Not to mention her rack. I have no idea how a girl that hot can be that smart and sexy, but there you go. Oh, and her name is Hazel Gellar.”
Favorite Book? 1984
Favorite Movie? “I’m guessing we’re talking a non-pornographic title? Uhhhh… I don’t know. Probably something like Forrest Gump. That movie gets me every time, no matter how much I watch it. Don’t tell anyone that.”
How do you feel about interview questions? “I really need a cigarette right now. But Hazel and I have a bet going, and if I smoke, I have to buy her dinner. Twice. Which could actually work out in my favor. Got a light?
Javier Cruz definitely isn’t relationship material, but that suits Hazel Gellar just fine. She’s not a relationship girl and doesn’t plan on ever being one.
But after a mind-blowing, panty-ripping, bed-breaking night, she knows once isn’t going to be enough. Fortunately, Javi feels the same way. Soon, what started as just one night turns into a lot of nights, and Hazel doesn’t know what to do.
Will she and Javi make the choice to be together for longer than just right NOW?
