RELEASE DAY -- Fall For Me

Fall For Me

Melanie Kincaid is a trust-fund baby with a knack for sassy comebacks and unnecessarily complicating her privileged life. So, of course she would have to fall in love with a man she can't have.

Jameson Hayes is a NYC firefighter for Manhattan’s oldest ladder company with big shoes to fill and a city to protect. He’s strong, sexy, and not looking for the complications Melanie brings. But he can't stay away from her either. The attraction between them is immediate and the pull between them is crazy powerful. But she's only home for the summer and long-distance relationships never work.

Unfortunately, Melanie’s beauty and smart mouth are a lethal combination and Jameson isn't the only Hayes who's interested. As if his brother isn't enough to compete with, now the city's most famous arsonist wants to claim her as his next prize. Jameson can't stand to watch Melanie get hurt and she can't seem to keep herself out of trouble.

Fall for Me is the first Ladder Company novel, a stand-alone companion series about New York's most elite firefighting family with hot alpha heroes, snarky heroines, and an arsonist hell-bent on destruction.

“Mom!” I move through the foyer and into the open great room— a large, open living/kitchen combo— where I leave my suitcase and kick off my flats before I hit the carpet. What the hell is she doing with gas? That stuff is toxic.

“Well?” Mom says, appearing at the edge of the hall on the other side of the kitchen. She has a hand towel around her neck and one of her many yoga-specific exercise outfits on. This one is a light blue and she’s barefoot. Monica Kincaid is dedicated to many things in life— her husband Christian, her daughters (the youngest, especially), and her charity projects— but yoga is the one out of all of it that I don’t understand. It puts her at peace, she says.

“Well?” I ask and drape the dress bag over the island counter top in the kitchen and move around to prop myself up on one of the bar stools. God, that gasoline smell is driving me mad.

“Are we planning a spring wedding yet or what?” Mom says with a grin. Her nose wrinkles, catching the scent of the gasoline, I’m sure. “Janet and I have been taking bets.”

“God, Mom,” I say and place my head in my hands.

“No really,” she says, “Tell me.”

“Nothing happened,” I say. Verbalizing it is even more disappointing than it probably should be. Apparently, Mom and Dad were also in on Jameson and Royal’s surprise trip. It took all of an hour after they landed for Janet Hayes to text me telling me she wishes she could have been there. It was sweet, but then she suggested she needed to leave me alone so I could spend as much time as possible with Jameson. And that we shouldn’t be disturbed. While the level of investment our mothers have in our has-yet-to-happen relationship is borderline creepy, the support is pretty awesome. It’s a rarity to find a woman as kind and loving as Janet Hayes is. Even if she doesn’t really know appropriate boundaries and likes to talk about when her sons were starting puberty… in all the gory details. I know more about Jameson’s solo activities when he was a kid more than I care to.

“You must be joking,” she says and heads to the fridge where she pulls out a single-serve cup of yogurt. “That man flew down to that god-awful place—,”

As a child, JC was fascinated by things that went bump in the night. As they say, some things never change. Now, as an adult, she divides her time between the sexy law men, mythical creatures, and kick-ass heroines that live inside her head and pursuing her bachelor's degree in English. JC is a San Francisco Bay Area native, but has also called both Texas and Louisiana home. These days she rocks her flip flops year round in Northern California and can't imagine a climate more beautiful.

JC writes adult, new adult, and young adult fiction. She dabbles in many different genres including science fiction, horror, chick lit, and murder mysteries, yet she is most enthralled by supernatural stories-- and everything has at least a splash of romance.

REVIEW -- ROMANCE: She Loved Him Since Day 1 of Looking into His Eyes

ROMANCE: She Loved Him Since Day 1 of Looking into His Eyes

Thomas and Kristen meet at a beach and start a relationship. Quickie read.
Usually, I include the book description on my reviews, But Amazon's book description was actually the opening part of the book.

That being said, I'm not entirely sure what I read here. It seemed like this book was just an outline of a book idea, with the 'parts' being key points to hit on in the plot.

It starts with Thomas breaking up with his girlfriend, because his mother is ill and the girlfriend doesn't get this, to rescuing Kristen's little brother from the ocean.  The next day, Thomas and Kristen just HAPPEN to meet at a record store and trade emails, all the while not knowing each other's names. Kristen is initially mad at this, but after Thomas writes to her, she's INSTANTLY not mad anymore. The FOLLOWING day, Kristen goes for a jog, gets 'ambushed' by Thomas and they have sex against a tree along the jogging trail, which is when they learn each other's names. First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage and the expected HEA.

Let's get real here... I don't know anyone, besides promiscuous people, that doesn't know their partner's name before having sex with them. Usually the first thing that is said when people meet are their names. I find it hard to believe that Kristen didn't see Thomas' name on his email.

The sex scenes are pretty much non-existent and way too clinical for a romance book. If the author was nervous about writing profanity, use a non-medical term, like juices or release. Seeing a medical term like semen in a romance/erotica book just soured the whole thing.

What annoyed me the most about this book are the tags the author used... BWWM, BBW , Paranormal Romance. I am an avid reader of Paranormal Romances and BBW books. These tags are HIGHLY misleading. First off, there was NO direct mention or even reference to Kristen being black. The only defining description of Kristen we actually got was mention of her long blonde hair. Going along with that, There was nothing written that Kristen was a BBW. I'm NOT saying bigger girls don't jog; but given how physically active the author made Kristen seem, I'm pretty sure she was not a BBW. Thirdly, when an author uses the tag 'Paranormal, I think vampires, witches/warlocks, aliens, shifters... at the VERY least, zombies. I didn't read ANY mention that Thomas had one of these qualities. It annoys me, because I purchase books based on their tags and I was misled here.

I have other books by the same author on my Kindle. I hope they have more substance to them.

This book is available on Amazon for $2.99.

If the author has expanded the story more, it probably would have been better. But this just fell flat.

REVIEW -- COWBOY EROTICA: Her Outlaw Desires

COWBOY EROTICA: Her Outlaw Desires

A young and attractive school teacher named Katie Valentine avoids certain death and danger one day while riding on her stagecoach.
Saved in heroic fashion by a mysterious gun wielding outlaw cowboy, she quickly falls for the man she always desired in her dreams.

Her new prince charming on a horse would flip her once normal life upside down while on a passionate journey of revenge and lust.

From innocent school teacher to falling for a hot mysterious outlaw Katie would let her inner wild-side out in an epic story of gun battles and menage action.

Its gonna be one wild ride!

WARNING...This is a HOT and SEXY Menage that is meant for an audience over the age of 18...
Oh, where do I begin? First off, big breasts does not constitute BBW. If all your heroine has are big breasts, please do not classify the book as a BBW book.

Secondly, the story was inconsistent and made little sense at times. Katie is a teacher who goes rogue and becomes an outlaw after one time sleeping with Buck and Shanna. Okay... maybe the sex was that good. But it goes from men not looking past Katie's breasts to the fact that she was having sex with Roscoe. If she was sleeping with Roscoe, why would she be depressed that men didn't look at her?

And while we're on the topic of Roscoe, how did he go from certain death to being the 'executioner' on the platform? How did he escape the collapsed fiery barn? Why didn't he find Buck and the girls sooner? None of this made sense to me.

I wouldn't really call Buck an outlaw, since the closest thing to breaking the law the he did was taking the money from dead people and shooting people that were threats. If he was a true outlaw, Katie would have at least been held for ransom, not happily dropped off at her father's farm.

I'm usually not a grammar stickler, but there were numerous run-on sentences and missing punctuation. I found myself reading some sentences a few times, just to understand them.

The sex was bland, but I am accustomed to gritty and explicit erotica. This did nothing for me.

I also felt the ending was rushed. Katie goes from being on the Old West's equivalent of Death Row to escaping unscathed with 3 other people and they are never caught?!? I'm all for fantasy and fiction, but that was too far-fetched.

I don't see myself reading any more by this author.

This book is available from Amazon for $3.27.

The plot was good, but too many inconsistencies and errors to make it fully enjoyable.

REVIEW -- A Baby for My Military Stepbrother 2

A Baby for My Military Stepbrother 2

“You better be careful, or I'll have to rip that dress right off of you,” he growled...

Wet with rain and full of adrenaline, I had finally submitted to the forbidden urges my military stepbrother made me feel.

Ian had rescued me yet again, and because of it, our relationship would never be the same. In addition to showing me just how he felt about me, he had been my first. My virginity belonged to him. Only he didn't know that and I didn't know how to tell him.

Our parents wouldn't be home for another two days. Two days for us to get these taboo feelings out of our systems. Except, every time he touched me, my feelings for him grew. That was definitely a problem, because he was leaving for Afghanistan in a month.

Ian hadn't wanted to be my first, and when I let it slip by accident, his conscience forced him to push me away.

He was the most honorable man I had ever met and I would do anything, take any risk, to keep him in my life. Especially if I could give him the one thing he had always wanted... A baby
I wasn't too happy to realize this ended in a cliffhanger. In typical couple fashion, Hayley and Ian get into a fight after she tells him that he took her virignity. Hoping for a repeat performance of the 'heroic' rescue that took place in book 1, Hayley hightails it to the same trail Ian rescued her from before. This time, instead of a dead car, a tree falls over the 'road' and Hayley is stranded. This is where Ms. Zara ends the book.

The cliifhanger ending doesn't change the fact that it was a good book and the sex was extremely hot. I'm just disappointed that I can't finish the series right now.

This is available from Amazon for $0.99.

Still very hot, Still very steamy. Just saddened that it was a cliffhanger ending. Looking forward to reading more of this series and other works by Ms. Zara.

Sweet Sinful Nights Teaser 1

SWEET SINFUL NIGHTS, Book One in a brand new erotic romance series, Sinful Nights! In the high-heat, high-stakes, high-glamour style of the Seductive Nights series...

She turned around and pushed hard on the ladies room door. But she felt his hand around her wrist, and he yanked her back, spinning her in one quick move, so she was chest to chest with him. She felt his breath on her.
“It did work out well for me. I’m also not the same person I was ten years ago,” he said, then did that thing again — that thing where he undressed her with his eyes, where he fucked her completely with his hot, dirty stare. “And you obviously have become a different person too.”
He tugged her, pulled her closer. His heart pounded against her breasts. His hand gripped her lower back.
He felt so good that she didn’t resist because her stupid body was stuck in the past, was living ten years ago when he alone was the one who could help her, who could free her, who could take away all the pain in one touch.
But he hadn’t, had he?
He’d caused more in his wake.
In his cruel exit.
She jammed a hand against his chest. His strong, firm chest that she knew intimately. The fucker. “I had reasons. Real reasons. Life and death reasons,” she said in a low hiss.
He shut his eyes briefly, looking pained. He sighed heavily, then somehow his arms were around her, and this time his touch wasn’t sexual. It wasn’t lustful. It was an embrace. From someone who knew nearly everything about her.
“Are you okay? Are you safe?” he asked in a whisper into her hair.
A tear had the audacity to slip out of her eye. To slide down her cheek, and fall onto his shoulder. It was a Pavlovian reaction. Too many tears had fallen on that shoulder.
“Yes,” she said quietly, with a nod. “I am. It’s fine. It’s all fine.”
He pulled back, tucked a hand under her chin, and lifted her face. She was so close to him she could trace the outline of his jaw, could run the pad of her finger over his stubble, his unbearably sexy eight-o-’clock shadow. She could drag her fingernails through his hair, soft, thick strands that simply had belonged between her hands. She could look in his eyes as he moved in her, those deep, soulful eyes that understood her. Somehow, he was rough and gentle, he was charming and fierce, he was funny and dirty. He was the man she’d wanted to spend the rest of her life with.
“Are you sure?” he asked, so much tenderness and worry in his tone.
She gathered herself, and willed that obstinate organ in her chest to stop beating in double time. She informed her traitorous body to stop trembling just from being near him. “Yes. I’m sure.”
He let her go. He tipped his forehead back to the bar. “I should get back out there. They’ll start wondering. See you in a few.”
And he walked away.
Just like the last time she’d seen him.
She pressed her lips together, and breathed out hard. She pushed open the ladies room door, walked to the sink, dropped her hands onto the cool tile and let out the longest, hardest breath. She hoped to hell this was the only time she’d have to deal with Brent Nichols.
When she was near to him like that, she couldn’t think straight. She could only feel. And that was far too dangerous for her heart.

Sweet SInful Nights full cover wrap

PROMO -- Under the Influence

Under the Influence

I loved you once. A love I thought irrevocable. A love I mistakenly believed could transcend both time and circumstance. Under the influence of my dimwitted, na├»ve, traitorous heart, I became intoxicated with what I now know was simply a figment of my self-indulgent imagination. So drunk on the feeling, I couldn’t see what was right in front of my face. So foolishly enamored, I blindly followed my heart into the depths of an emotion that would ravage me.

Years later, I know now what I wish I knew then. I am stronger. Smarter. Tougher. I will not allow myself to be broken again.
I loved you.
I raged for you.
I wept for you.
And now, I’m letting you go.

Author’s Note:  Under the Influence is the journey of two childhood friends that spans the course of five pivotal years in their lives. It is a story about their discovery of true friendship as it blossoms into first love, their experience of crucial sacrifice and ultimate betrayal, and their endurance of agonizing heartbreak on the way to finding lasting redemption.

Spencer POV:
Cassie maintains her wide smile. You go on a date and I guarantee what you find regarding Dalton and his feelings will surprise you.
Cassie. No one wants to go out on a date with me. Trust me.
She shakes her head before she busts out laughing. The ridiculous sound of it reverberates around my room. You really have no idea, do you? Every guy at school has a hard-on for you, you fool. Theyre fucking scared to come within even ten feet of you because of Dalton. He let it be known that if they did, he would deal with them.
Oh my God! You have no idea what youre talking about! Im laughing outright now. She really has lost her mind.
She shakes her head, the severity of her statement tightening her features. Im totally serious, Spence. I swear on my Kindle.
At this, I take a sharp breath and sober immediately. To Cassie, her Kindle is sacred as the Bible.
She nods slowly, dramatically, as she watches me grasp the meaning of her statement. Right hand raised, she states, On the over-abundance of trashy romance novels within my possession, I solemnly swear that before Dalton graduated, he straight-up took out a vendetta against any male in our school who dares approach you.
He did what?! I screech, pressing myself off the bed and catapulting into upright position.
Anger ignites and my face heats wildly as realization dawns.
This whole year, in fact, the entire four years of high school, no one has looked at me. No one has asked me to come to parties, to go on dates, to go to prom. Not that I would go, but it would be nice to be asked, you know? Okay, I probably would go. I mean, its a rite of passage, right?
Two black painted fingernails make their appearance as they snap directly in front of my face, jolting me out of my inner thoughts.
Hooker! Pay attention!
I shake my head and refocus. Still seething, I whisper, This whole time, I thought it was me. That I wasnt dating material or pretty enough. Four years, Cass. Four years of feeling like I wasnt good enough. My molars grind together. It all makes sense now.
She waves her hand dismissively. Were getting off track here.
My eyes bulge as she continues, “I have found someone who, luckily for you, seems to have recently acquired a death wish.”

Then Salem Harris comes walking into his life and changes his game plan. Saint finds himself wanting Salem in all the ways that scare him. She is off limits; taken. But that doesn’t stop Saint from going after what he wants, and he wants her.

Frankie showed Saint a new way of life with Boxing, but will Salem give him the one thing he's never known – love? Is Salem capable of breaking away from the ropes that bind her to doing what’s expected rather than what and whom she desires? Can Gabriel convince Salem that their mutual feelings are worth fighting for, and that together, they will be able to go the distance?

REVIEW -- Curvy Girls Do It Harder with Rock Stars

Curvy Girls Do It Harder with Rock Stars

Curvy Girls Do It Harder with Rock Stars: Short Erotic Romance - Book 7

*** Mature Content Warning: This short erotic romance book contains very strong language and steamy adult entertainment - Strictly for Adults ***

It took a little planning but Amanda came up with a solution. An impromptu party for the guys with girls who were real girls. Good basic sensible women who were interested in fun.

When the boys arrived, they were dressed in street clothes. The point was to make them look a little less overwhelming when they appeared. At the time when she planned this party, Amanda didn't know whether the new party women would be freaked out by rock stars.

This was just horrendous. I've read a few books by Ms. Padraige before and they all were clear and sensible. This was not.

Now, I don't claim to know any rock stars, although being friends with Jon Bon Jovi and Josh Todd would be the first two I'd beeline it for if I had the chance. But, from what I've heard and seen, rock stars aren't really 'into' sensible women, looking for fun or not. They are into girls that are into their scene. I'm so sorry if I'm stereotyping people... but most rock stars date/marry either a model or a fellow rock star. Seal and Heidi Klum and Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are perfect examples of this.

So, for the plot to be that the band were looking for sensible 'good girls' was simply not believable.

I think Ms. Padraige forgot whose scene she was writing. There was many name errors and the sex was very, very bland. At about 80%, I found myself just skimming along, so I could call it 'read' and leave a review.

It came off as glaringly obvious that Kenny wanted Amanda to be a 'friend with benefits,' but for whatever reason, Amanda was oblivious to this. She had a college education, how could she not see the signs that were pretty much flashing neon colors???

After this, I'm not sure if I'll read any more work by Ms. Padraige.

Poorly written; Bland and vanilla on the sex. Too many errors to make it enjoyable.

**Excerpt & Teasers**

I wasn't sure it was the Jack Daniels or it was Demon. When his tongue found it's way into my mouth I could feel a fire starting to burn between my thighs. The moment I saw Demon at Twisted, I knew he was down for a sultry good time. He stepped back and I couldn't help it but I started to cover myself. He smacked my hands away, the scars that nobody has ever seen suddenly felt like they were on fire under his gaze.
“What happened?”
It almost brought tears to my eyes.
“An abusive ex.” I replied mournfully.

I could feel her body pressed against me, the way her hands held my shirt, and her tits pressed into the leather on my back, made me harder. Uncomfortable, is riding a Harley with a hard on. The drive to my place is short since I only live at the far end of the Club's property. Makes getting to and from easy. Most members stay at the club in the many apartments they have there. Not I, I need more privacy than that. I cut the engine, waiting for her to move. When she finally did, I could tell that she had been crying. I know it was none of my business, but I got off the bike, walked over to her, and wiped the tears off her cheeks.
“What's wrong sweet cheeks?”
"Tonight just make me forget who I am.” The look in her eyes said everything I needed to know. Someone, my guess is Steel, had hurt this woman and she wanted me to take it away, even if it was just for the night.
“I have a fifth of Jack and a few hours.” then I leaned in close to her and whispered, “And believe me when I say I'll fuck you so hard you won't remember whoever hurt you.”
“Promise?” She asked, smiling.
Why not, I don't want or need an old lady, but I need to get this dick wet every now and then. I just winked and then lead the way in. “So, what is your name?” I asked. It didn't matter, I was going to forget by tomorrow evening, and either way it seemed like the right thing to do.
“Now why ruin this with names and feelings. I need a lay, the look in your eyes says you do too. So whatever name you want to call me is fine with me. Get me drunk and fuck me.”

**About the Author**

Well, What can I say besides the fact that I am a bored stay at home mom that wanted to share some of the inter working of my brain. I have always loved to read and have so many ideas for good novels/novellas, so please follow to get the most up to date information.

Other then that my life is pretty simple. Married for 5 years to my amazingly supportive husband. two beautiful kids. I have a crazy family, with tons of drama (makes for good writing). I love reading and tattoos. 19 tattoos and counting. MC romance is my number one favorite. After that who knows, I can't list everything that is on my TBR list.

I would love to give a shout out to one very important man... Mr. Lucian Bane. His books have helped my marriage beyond words. This is not a teacher pet kind of post, this is real shit. His work help me find myself, which then led to me writing! So, I need to thank him, Lucian if you ever read this know that your work means the world to me!!!

Any other questions, just ask, I am a pretty open book. LOL pun intended.

Portrait Of Semi-Naked Couple Embracing

Teaser 1b

Exclusive Excerpt:

“Sometimes I get in the zone and everything else gets tuned out. I forget to eat and sleep, or even what day it is. Things just blur together when I’m focusing. It’s like my mind can only devote itself to the creative. And I had a disagreement with my brother, which didn’t help matters.”
“Oh, do y’all fight a lot?” she asked while continuing to chow down on her syrup with a side of waffles. “My siblings and I fought all the time growing up, but now that we’re older, we get along much better, as long as we don’t have to share a room or a bathroom.”
“Not so much anymore. We did when we were younger. Then we didn’t talk for a long time.” My truth-telling danced a fine line. One conversation with my mom about Barrett and me having contact and everything would come crashing down. I loved my parents, but I couldn’t let go of Barrett again, not even for them.
“What made you, or him, get back in touch after not talking for such a long time?”
“Umm, well, uhh, I guess somewhere around the time Bow and Danelle got married, the dynamic of the band started changing. There was just a lot going on; Joker and Ruff stopped trying to kill each other and started fuc—dating each other, and then Touch met Kaitlyn and all of their shit went down, and I realized that even though my band had been my surrogate family for years, I needed my real family, my blood and my best friend since the beginning. So I began trying to reach out to Barrett, and one day, he responded.
“It’s been nice catching up with him and talking about all the things I’ve done with the band and stuff. He kept track of it all. We talk pretty much every day now, except when he’s pissed at me.”
“Does he ever come to visit? Maybe I’ll get a chance to meet him while I’m here. If he’s half as pushy as you are, I might like him,” she claimed with a smile, but panic rose inside me. Not because she thought I was pushy or she might like him better—Barrett and I had never been the type to compete or fight over a girl—but she wanted to meet him. Total no-go situation.
“Yeah, he probably won’t make it anytime soon. He’s got other obligations right now. But, uhh, but I need you to promise me you won’t tell my parents or your mom about Barrett.” My hands clinched the hard bench seat and my legs bounced up and down nervously. I didn’t know why I couldn’t keep my mouth shut around her, or just stay the fuck away from her.
“Why’s that?” By now, she’d stopped eating and was focusing on me, studying me, looking at me as if she could see the thoughts ripping through my head like a natural disaster in the making.
“They don’t talk to each other. My parents have, uhh, they have a different view of Barrett. He doesn’t want contact with them, and it’s just easier for everyone if they don’t know he’s talking to me. I don’t want to hurt them.”
“Do you think you could help them heal their rift before it’s too late and it can’t be fixed?”
“It’s already too late. The only thing I can do is try to salvage what I have left and not cause any more damage or harm or pain to anyone else.” I stopped and thought for a moment before I said anything else. “I shouldn’t have even told you; something about you makes you easy to talk to. But I need you to promise me that you aren’t going to repeat the things we talk about or that you see to my mom, your mom, or anyone else for that matter. If you can’t do that, we can’t be friends, or even friendly neighbors.”
Layna looked me directly in the eye. I’d always heard a person’s soul and true intentions show through the eyes, telling you if their intentions were good or bad. The look in Layna’s eyes told me her intentions were good.
“Brand, I promise I won’t repeat the things you tell me or that I see to your parents or mine.”
I took her promise at face value. What I should have remembered was the saying about good intentions and the road to hell being paved with them. I knew all about good intentions, and I knew all about hell. I’d lived in my own personal tormented version of hell for over a decade.

About the Author:

One day some words came to mind, so I wrote them down. Soon the words became sentences, which formed paragraphs, which, in turn, formed chapters. Before long, those words had become a book.

When I'm not reading or writing, I'm a wife, mother, and business owner. I've lived on the Gulf, East, and West Coasts, but as a born and raised Southern girl, my favorite will always be the Gulf Coast. There's just no place like home...
